New Master of the Order Elected!

On Friday, July 13, 2019, during the first week of the Dominican General Chapter in Biên Hoà , Vietnam, Fr. Gerard Francisco Timoner, O.P., was elected Master of the Order.
Fr. Timoner, who is aged 51, is the 87th Successor of St Dominic – the 88th Master of the Order. He is the first Asian ever to hold this position.
Born in Camarines Norte, the Philippines, he has served as Rector of the UST Central Seminary and as Prior Provincial of the Philippines, and as the former Master’s Socius for Asia Pacific. He is currently a member of the Vatican’s International Theological Commission.
