News from the Eastern Africa Vicariate

March 29, 2018

The Dominican Friars of the Province of St. Joseph are engaged in the work of developing a new province for the Order of Preachers in Eastern Africa, known as the Vicariate of Eastern Africa. Our Lord’s Incarnation and his Way of the Cross remind us of the dignity of everyone.  He came to save all and to proclaim the Kingdom of Love to all. The Province of St. Joseph participates in this ministry of reconciliation with God in many ways.  We are heeding Jesus’ injunction to the Apostles to call to repentance, baptize, and teach. The Vicariate was established in March 1991 and since that time has undergone a remarkable growth in its personnel, communities, and ministries from when it was just a few friars from the US Provinces doing a few individual ministries.

Fr. David Adiletta, OP, is Secretary for the Missions for the Province of St. Joseph. He has recently compiled a newsletter with information about the activities of the African and American friars serving in the Eastern Africa Vicariate. Click here to read more.
