September 19, 2017

The Priory of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC, also known as the Dominican House of Studies, recently elected Fr. Aquinas Guilbeau, O.P., as prior for the next three years.

Fr. Guilbeau entered the Province of St. Joseph in 2005, and he professed his solemn vows in 2009. After completing three years of parochial ministry at St. Vincent Ferrer in New York City, Fr. Guilbeau was assigned to pursue doctoral studies at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland. He defended his dissertation in moral theology in 2016. Since then, he has taught at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, DC.

To learn more about Fr. Guilbeau, you may view this talk in which he shares his insights into how the classical thought of Aristotle and Thomas Aquinas brings clarity to the question of the origin and purpose of law, a clarity essential to the flourishing of a republic and the formation of its citizens as wise and free.
