11 Friars Prepare for Ordination in Washington, DC

June 10, 2016

Join us in our nation’s capital for our 800th Jubilee celebration of 11 friars ordained to the Priesthood of Jesus Christ on May 21, 2016 at 9:30AM. The ordination Mass will take place in the Great Upper Church of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception on the campus of the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC with his excellency, Archbishop J. Augustine DiNoia, O.P., Adjunct Secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith.

A number of events follow at the Dominican House of Studies (across the street). Men interested must RSVP to the vocation director to participate in post-ordination events. For men arriving from out of town, it may be possible to spend the night May 20 and 21 to fully join in the celebration and events and meet many friars from our province who will be with us, including our novices from Ohio.

The Ordination Mass and First Masses are open to the public – ALL ARE WELCOME!  This will be the largest ordination class in 45 years.
