Document on the Vocation of the Religious Brother Released by the Vatican

St. Dominic was a priest. However, he instituted the Order of Preachers as a diverse religious community comprising many different entities: priests, sisters, nuns, brothers, and laity. One of these entities – the religious brotherhood – is the subject of a new document released by the Vatican. Identity and Mission of the Religious Brother in the Church was completed last Fall and was released in English at the end of 2015. It is part of an effort by the Church to rediscover the richness of this vocation and encourage its growth.
