Fr. Gustavo Gutiérrez, O.P. to speak at Providence College

On April 27, 2015, the third annual Edward Cleary, O.P. Memorial Lecture at Providence College will feature Peruvian theologian and Dominican friar, Gustavo Gutiérrez, O.P. The writings of Fr. Gutiérrez include the recently published On the Side of the Poor: The Theology of Liberation, a volume coauthored with Gerhard Cardinal Muller. Ordained to the priesthood in 1959, Fr. Gutiérrez entered the Order of Preachers in 1999. In addition to delivering the Edward Cleary, O.P. Memorial Lecture, Fr. Gutiérrez will receive an honorary doctorate from Providence College.
