St. Dominic’s Day in New York City

The Churches of St. Vincent Ferrer and St. Catherine of Siena in New York City will be commemorating the Solemnity of St. Dominic this August 8 with splendid events of prayer and celebration. Full details follow. At the Church of St. Vincent Ferrer (869 Lexington Ave, New York, NY 10065), there will be a Sung Mass at 12:10 P.M. on Friday, August 8. Following Mass there will be a lunch reception in the refectory and courtyard of the Priory, to which all are invited. The 8 A.M. and 5:30 P.M. Masses will be as usual. At the Church of St. Catherine of Siena (411 E 68th St, New York, NY 10065), festivities begin on Thursday, August 7, with First Vespers of Saint Dominic, beginning at 5:45 P.M. Then, on Friday, August 8, at 5:15 P.M., there will be a Solemn Mass with Second Vespers of Saint Dominic. Juan-Diego Brunetta, O.P., will be the celebrant, and Leo Checkai, O.P., the homilist.
