Summit Monastery Expansion Campaign
July 16, 2014
The Dominican Monastery of Our Lady of the Rosary in Summit, New Jersey, has opened a $4 million capital campaign to raise funds for an expansion project designed to accommodate their increase in vocations and the needs of the faithful who pray with the nuns’ community. The capital campaign, entitled “Making the Light Shine Brighter,” was recently the subject of an extensive article from the Catholic News Agency, available here. The expansion project is designed to meet the needs of the local Catholic community who comes to pray with the nuns, and the growing needs of the Dominican communal life there. The project includes the construction of wheelchair ramps to make the sister’s chapel handicapped accessible, as well as facilities for guests and for the daily needs of the sisters. To find out more about the capital campaign, visit the Summit nuns’ website here, or see their complete brochure about the campaign here.
