Magnificat Lauded at 2014 Catholic Press Awards

The daily prayer companion Magnificat received a wide variety of accolades at the 2014 Catholic Press Awards, including first place for General Excellence in a prayer and spirituality magazine. In total, Magnificat received eleven awards. They are: Best Original Poetry: Second Place, “The Poem “Herod’s Lament”” by Rita A. Simmonds Individual Excellence, Editor: Honorable Mention, Peter John Cameron, O.P. Coffee-Table Book: First Place, Splendors of the Creed by Joseph T. Lienhard, S.J. and Frédéric Curnier-Laroche Best Cover: Honorable Mention, Magnificat July Issue by Peter John Cameron, O.P. Best Essay, Prayer & Spirituality Magazines: First Place, “The Most Abandoned Soul” by Anthony Esolen Second Place, “How the Church Has Changed the World: A Child Enthroned” by Anthony Esolen Third Place, “She Pondered These Things In Her Heart: Lamb of God” by Jennifer Hubbard Honorable Mentions, “Beneath the Heavens and Behind the Door” by Anthony Esolen; “The Sacred Heart of Jesus” by Heather King Best Editorial: First Place, Peter John Cameron, O.P.
