Aquinas on God Conference Registration Closing Soon

Registration for the fourth annual summer philosophy conference at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, NY, closes on April 30. This year’s conference subject is Aquinas on God. The conference, which is a cooperative venture of the Thomistic Institute, the Catholic and Dominican Institute of Mount Saint Mary College, and the Notre Dame Center for Ethics and Culture, aims to address the philosophical questions that arise from claims about God; namely, is it even possible to speak of God philosophically? What about the nature of creation, providence, and ethics? The various presenters at the conference will seek to answer these questions using tools from the Thomistic tradition, applying them to issues both historical and thematic. Eight featured speakers will give major papers at the conference, including James Brent, O.P., Michael Dodds, O.P., and Thomas Joseph White, O.P., as well as William Carroll of Oxford University and Edward Feser of Pasadena College, among others. Graduate students in philosophy, theology, and related disciplines are invited to attend, but space is limited.
