Street-corner Caroling in D.C.
December 27, 2013
Before Christmas, a group of Dominican friars and sisters gathered in Columbia Heights to sing carols for passers-by. The goal of the evening was simple: to sing out of joy for birth of Jesus Christ. While many in the group sang, others stood nearby to speak and pray with those who gathered to watch and listen. The event was covered by the Catholic News Service on Christmas Eve; their article can be found here. A night of street-corner caroling last Christmas also led to a startling and beautiful encounter with a group of partygoers dressed as bananas. A passer-by caught the event on video, which can be viewed here.
