A Summer Conference with a Cause

December 6, 2013

This summer, the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (the Angelicum) will host a conference for Dominican friars entitled Recovering Causality, from June 24 to June 26, 2014. The colloquium, designed especially for Dominican friars interested in the thought of Thomas Aquinas, seeks to gather an international team of scholars, both young and mature, in order to study the key notion of causality from the perspective of multiple disciplines. The colloquium will consider a wide range of major issues, including the dialogue between Thomistic cosmology and contemporary natural science, historical issues concerning the texts of Aquinas or the Thomistic tradition, speculative metaphysical problems, as well as issues related to the humanity of Christ and the sacraments as instrumental causes of grace. All talks will be given in either Italian or English, without translation. Dominican friars who are interested in attending the conference should contact Bernhard Blankenhorn, O.P., prefetto.biblio@pust.it, Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas Largo Angelicum, 1, 00184 Roma, Italia.
