Dominican Ordinations 2013
May 26, 2013
On Friday, May 24th, the day on which the Dominican Order celebrates the translation of the relics of our Holy Father Dominic, six of our brothers were ordained to the priesthood: Fr. Dominic Joseph Bump, O.P.; Fr. Bernard Marie Timothy, O.P.; Fr. Matthew Carroll, O.P.; Fr. Albert Duggan, O.P.; Fr. Reginald Mary Lynch, O.P.; and Fr. Ambrose Mary Little, O.P. The Mass of Ordination was held at our church of St. Dominic in Washington, DC, celebrated by The Most Rev. Christopher Cardone, OP, Bishop of Auki, Solomon Islands, and a friar of the Province of St. Joseph. We give thanks to God for the vocation of these men and all those who have dedicated their lives to the service of Christ in the Order of Preachers, as well as to their parents, friends, and benefactors.
To live in the midst of the world without wishing its pleasures; To be a member of each family, yet belonging to none; To share all suffering; to penetrate all secrets; To heal all wounds; to go from men to God and offer Him their prayers; To return from God to men to bring pardon and hope; To have a heart of fire for Charity, and a heart of bronze for Chastity To teach and to pardon, console and bless always. My God, what a life; and it is yours, O priest of Jesus Christ.
—Fr. Henri Lacordaire O.P.
