A New Friars’ Residence in Charlottesville

March 1, 2013

Our Province of Dominican Friars has been serving the community at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA, for 50 years.  For much of that time, the friars have lived in a refurbished local house, which was not particularly conducive to religious life.  A number of years ago, the friars begin a process to build a new residence, one that modeled a more traditional Priory structure, and would better serve the needs of an active community of friars.  That project is finally now at the completion stage.  Just recently, the community in Charlottesville were able to host an open house prior to their own move-in.  This was a chance to show their appreciation to so many people that many this new residence possible.  Below are some pictures of the new residence in Charlottesville.  Please continue to pray both for our ministry in Charlottesville, and that God will continue to send men to our Order, so that we might fill up this new residence!  If you would like to support the building of the new residence in Charlottesville, see their website, here.
