Broin’ Out with Father Brophy
January 30, 2013
Fr. Justin Brophy, OP, a newly ordained priest, is the new Assistant to the Chaplain at Providence College. In his first year there, he has already started his own radio program on the College Radio station, WDOM, Broin’ Out with Father Brophy. Fr. Brophy describes his decision to begin this new media enterprise:
When I first arrived at Providence College, I was immediately struck by the community that is the College and the unique individuals who comprise that community. I wanted some way to use popular media to feature members of the PC community in a way that engaged their faith. Fr. James Cuddy, OP, the Chaplain of Providence College, already has a regular column in the student newspaper, The Cowl, and I always wanted to be a radio talk host so WDOM 91.3 seemed like a great option. Essentially, I seek to talk to various members of the PC community about the role faith plays in their daily lives. I also attempt to feature all of the great events in Campus Ministry as well as answer any questions students have about Catholicism in a thorough, yet humorous and easy-going way.
You can see more about the radio program, and even download episodes, at the Broin’ Out with Father Brophy website.
