Opening Mass of the Academic Year

August 21, 2012

On Monday, August 20th, the Memorial of St. Bernard of Clairvaux, the Pontifical Faculty of Theology of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC, celebrated the opening Mass of its academic year.  The celebrant and preacher was the Pontifical Faculty’s President, the Very Rev. Steven Boguslawski, O.P.  Following the ancient tradition of opening the academic year by celebrating the Eucharist in order to invoke a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon faculty and students, this Mass–and its subsequent luncheon–also served to welcome both PFIC’s new students and those returning to their studies from the summer recess.  Please keep the faculty, staff, and students of the Pontifical Faculty in your prayers throughout the coming year.  A slideshow of pictures from the Mass can be seen below.
