Sons of the Province of St. Joseph: + In Memoriam + (July 6)
July 6, 2012
It is a Dominican custom to pray for our deceased brethren every day by reciting the De Profundis (Psalm 130). Join us in prayer as we remember, in a particular way, the sons of the Province of St. Joseph. Today we remember Br. John Vincent Corrigan, O.P. who died as a clerical student on July 6, 1916. He is buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetry in Washington, D.C. Fr. Francis O’Neil, O.P. who died on July 6, 1940. He is buried at Holy Sepulchre in Newark, New Jersey. Fr. Clement Mary Thuente, O.P. who was a Preacher General and died on July 6, 1960. He is buried at St. Rose in Springfield, Kentucky. De Profundis Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord, Lord hear my voice. R. Let your ears be attentive to my voice in supplication. If you, O Lord, mark iniquities, Lord, who can stand? R. But with you is forgiveness, that you may be revered. I trust in the Lord, my soul trusts in His word. R. My soul waits for the Lord, more than sentinels wait for the dawn. More than sentinels wait for the dawn, let Israel wait for the Lord. R. For with the Lord is kindness, and with Him is plenteous redemption. And He will redeem Israel for all their iniquities. R. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. From the gates of Hell. R. Deliver their souls, O Lord. The Lord be with you. R. And with your spirit. Let us pray: O God, Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful, grant to the souls of your servants and handmaids the remission of all their sins, that they may obtain by our loving prayers the forgiveness which they have always desired. Who live and reign forever. Amen. May they rest in peace. Amen. St. Joseph, Patron of our Province. Pray for us. Click here for the Necrology Search
