Faith in Healthcare: A look at matters of health and medicine from a Catholic Perspective
July 12, 2012
Brother Albert Duggan, O.P. will give a talk and lead a discussion on Faith and Reason at Saint Catherine of Siena Parish in New York City on Thursday, July 12th from 7-8:30 pm. This talk will use Blessed Pope John Paul II’s encyclical Fides et Ratio to explore the Church’s teaching on the connection between faith and reason and examine how this teaching can shed light on the apparent tension between science and religion. Though they are often considered at odds with one another, faith and reason are compatible and mutually enriching ways of coming to know the truth. Brother Albert Duggan majored in Bioethics at Brown University and conducted four years of bioethical research at John Hopkins University. The discussion will focus on bioethics from a Catholic perspective. This event is free and open to the public. All are welcome to attend!
