Archbishop DiNoia OP Takes on New Position of Reconciliation

July 1, 2012

In order to keep talks on course to a possible reconciliation, Pope Benedict XVI has appointed Dominican Archbishop J. Augustine DiNoia OP as vice president of the commission charged with helping to bring the Society of St. Pius X back into full communion with Rome.

Archbishop DiNoia taught for over 20 years at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington DC.

As you can see at the end of the article he makes the point, “In fact, I’m going to ask the Dominicans to start praying” which is exactly what he did before the Anglican Ordinariate was formed – with which he was involved.

This article by the National Catholic Register is very informative about the situation and what needs to happen. Please keep this intention in your prayers!

By the way, it is rare to find the Archbishop wearing the traditional garb as you see in this photo – usually, he normally wears his Dominican habit!
