September 9, 2011
On August 13, 2011, nine brothers made their solemn vows as Dominicans, promissing to live a life of poverty chastity and obedience usque ad mortem (until death). The brothers making vows were: Br. Peter Totleben, O.P.; Br. Paul Martin Kennedy, O.P.; Br. Joseph-Mary Hertzog, O.P.; Br. Mario Aquinas Calabrese, O.P.; Br. AlbertDuggan, O.P.; Br. Reginald Mary Lynch, O.P.; Br. Leo Checkai, O.P.; Br. Peter Martyr Joseph Yungwirth, O.P.; and Br. Ambrose Mary Little, O.P. Eight of these brothers are in studies in preparation for ordination to the priesthood, and one is a cooperator brother in the Order. The Mass was held on August 13, 2011, the optional memorial of St. Hippolytus. Receiving their vows in place of the Master of the Order, Fr. Bruno Cadore, OP, was Fr. John Langlois, OP, the Socius of the Province of St. Joseph. Above is a slideshow of pictures from solemn vows. Fr. Langlois’s homily for the Mass is also available on this website. Please continue to pray for these brothers as they live out the life to which they have been called, and please continue to pray for all of our men in formation.
