Ignite Your Torch 2011: Catholic Youth Conference

The 7th annual Ignite Your Torch Catholic Youth Conference recently concluded on July 10, 2011. This 4-day conference for youth includes involvement from a variety of priests and religious, with a sizeable participation by Dominican Friars and sisters. The mission of the conference is to ignite the faith of high school age Catholic youth so that they may live completely for Christ and together conquer the world for Christ. Ignite Your Torch is Eucharistically-centered, devoted to Our Blessed Mother, and catechetical in nature. It aims to build up a culture of life, foster vocations, and provide fellowship among Catholic youth. The conference occurs on the campus of St. Catharine College in Springfield, KY. The colllege is not far from St. Rose Church, the site of the founding of the Dominican Order in the United States. Dominican Friars from the Province of St. Joseph participating include: Fr. William P. Garrott, O.P.; Fr. James Cuddy, O.P.; Fr. Pius Pietrzyk, O.P.; Fr. James Brent, O.P.; Rev. Br. Michael Dominic O’Connor, O.P.; Br. Cassian Derbes, O.P., and Br. John Baptist Hoang, O.P.
