Adoration during Ignite Your Torch Youth Conference

Earlier I told you about opportunities with Bro. Reginald Lynch OP who is traveling throughout our province to offer talks to our 3rd Order Dominicans (Dominican Laity) in DC, PA, OH, MA, ME & NY.

Here is another opportunity from our brothers in Kentucky at St. Louis Bertrand Parish and Priory.


Ignite Your Torch” Youth Conference with have our three student brothers who are assigned to Kentucky this summer. Bro. Michael O’Connor OP (Deacon) will be talking about sacred music, Bro. Cassian Derbes OP will be talking about angels and demons, and Bro. John Baptist Hoang OP will give a pro-life talk. I am hoping to get down to this conference while I am at St. Gertrude in Cincinnati.

Also, St. Louis Bertrand parish, every Monday evening at 7PM (except on July 4th), will offer talks as part of a series called “Back to Basics” (B2B). This year, they are discussing the documents of the Second Vatican Council. Here is a schedule:

June 6: Leading up to the Second Vatican Council (Fr. Allen Moran, OP)
June 13: “Sacrosanctum Concilium” — The Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy (Bro. Michael O’Connor, OP)
June 20: “Lumen Gentium” — The Constitution on the Church (Bro. Michael O’Connor, OP)
June 27: “Dei Verbum” — The Constitution on Divine Revelation (Bro. Cassian Derbes, OP)
July 11: “Gaudium et Spes” — The Constitution on the Church in the Modern World (Bro. Michael O’Connor, OP)
July 18: The Declarations and Decrees of the Second Vatican Council (Bro. John Baptist Hoang, OP)
July 25: The Church after the Second Vatican Council (Bro. Cassian Derbes, OP)
