Successor of St. Dominic Visits the Dominican House of Studies

Fr. Bruno Cadoré OP, the Master of the Dominican Order and the 87th Successor of St. Dominic just finished a “Fraternal Visit” here at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, DC. He is visiting the houses of formation and provincial councils of the United States. Today he goes to our novitiate at St. Gertrude Priory in Cincinnati, OH.

Our Constitutions say:  “The Order of Preachers, which is ruled by a general chapter and the Master of the Order, is made up of provinces, each of which is ruled by a provincial chapter and the prior provincial. Each province is made up of convents (“priories”) and houses, which are governed by a prior or superior” (LCO 252)

In a similar way that the our Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI is the direct successor of St. Peter the Apostle, so Fr. Bruno is the successor of St. Dominic.  Please pray for Fr. Bruno and the work he will have in the years to come!
