The Immanent Frame, a website focused on “Secularism, religion, and the public sphere,” recently invited Fr. Thomas Joseph White, O.P. to contribute to a series of nine essays reviewing a recent book of Prof. Thomas Pfau (Duke University), called Minding the Modern (University of Notre Dame Press, 2013). Professor Pfau’s book presents Aquinas’ moral theory of human action as a key to the renewal of modern philosophy and the study of the humanities. To read Fr.
