Fr. Juan-Diego Brunetta, OP addresses the Rosary Celebration in Arizona

This weekend, October 11–12, Fr. Juan-Diego visited Tucson and Phoenix, where he was the guest speaker for the Arizona Rosary Celebration. Fr. Brunetta’s talks were only part of a multifaceted program which included choral performances, Masses, Expositions and Benedictions of the Blessed Sacrament, Blessing Processions and, of course, communal recitation of the Rosary. Bishop Gerald F. Kicanas of Tuscon presided on Saturday, October 11, and Bishop Thomas Olmsted and Auxiliary Bishop Eduardo Nevares of Phoenix presided on Sunday, October 12. The Arizona Rosary Celebration began in 1976 and has, according to the organizers, developed into “the largest, longest continuous annual Rosary event held in a public venue in the United States.” You can listen to Fr. Juan-Diego Brunetta, OP, made simple profession in the Order of Preachers in 1996 and was ordained a priest in 2001. Before entering the Order Fr. Brunetta studied biology at St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia and served as a science teacher for almost three years in American Samoa. Following ordination to the priesthood Fr. Brunetta earned a doctorate in Canon Law from the Catholic University of America. He served as a Judge and Defender of the Bond in the Marriage Tribunal of the Archdiocese of Hartford, CT, from 2003 until 2011, when he was elected prior of the Church of St. Catherine of Siena in New York City. Alongside his prioral duties, Fr. Brunetta serves as a Judge on the Marriage Tribunal at the Archdiocese of New York and is the Director of Administration and Promoter of Media for the Province of St. Joseph.
