Thoughts on Spiritual Communion
February 9, 2015
Fr. Paul Jerome Keller, O.P., S.T.D., Professor of Sacramental and Liturgical Theology at the Athenaeum of Ohio and a priest of the Province of St. Joseph, recently published an article on the topic of spiritual communion in Nova et Vetera. The journal has made the article freely available to the public here. Fr. Keller joined the Order of Preachers in 1988 and was ordained in 1993, after which he served the Province of St. Joseph in a variety of pastoral and academic assignments. Currently, in addition to serving at the Athenaeum of Ohio, he is subprior of St. Gertrude’s Priory, which houses the province’s novitiate community. Among his publications are 101 Questions & Answers on the Sacraments of Healing: Penance and the Anointing of the Sick (Paulist Press, 2010) and A Lenten Journey with Jesus Christ and St. Thomas Aquinas (Christus Publishing, 2013). ✠ Image: Giovanni Sogliani, St. Dominic and His Friars Fed by Angels, 1536.
