September 9, 2014

fr_clarkThe friars of the Priory of the Immaculate Conception (Dominican House of Studies) in Washington, DC recently elected Fr. Luke Clark, O.P., as their new prior. According to the Constitutions of the Dominican Order, a prior serves a community of friars for a term of three years. His duties include promoting the religious life and apostolic life of the community, providing for the needs of the friars, and ensuring that the friars fulfill their personal responsibilities.

Professed in 1998 and ordained to the priesthood in 2004, for the past six years Fr. Luke has served as pastor of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in Charlottesville, VA. During his time as pastor and as superior of the Dominican community at Charlottesville, Fr. Luke also led a construction project for a new priory for the Dominican community.

Please pray for Fr. Luke and for the friars of the Priory of the Immaculate Conception as he begins his term of service to the community.
