Basil Cole, O.P., will lead a retreat for priests May 5-9, 2014, in the Diocese of Sacramento, at the Christ the King Retreat Center in Citrus Heights, California. Fr. Basil will speak on a variety of topics oriented towards helping priests grow in holiness and come closer to Christ in the daily practice of their prayer and ministry. Topics for the retreat include a reflection on Evangelii gaudium, growing in the virtue of chastity in contemporary culture, the priest as victim and victor with Christ, and more. To RSVP, register here. Cost for overnight attendees is $450, and $150 for commuters. Fr. Basil joined the Dominicans in 1960 and was ordained a priest in 1966. He studied in the Saulchoir in France and earned his doctorate in sacred theology from the Angelicum in Rome. In addition to a wide variety of pastoral assignments, he has taught moral, spiritual, and dogmatic theology at the Dominican House of Studies since 1997.
