Solemn Profession in the East African Vicariate
November 29, 2013
Br. Raphael Pio Gitonga Akotha, O.P., and Br. Emmanuel Mutisya Mulu, O.P., made Solemn Profession on Saturday, November 23, 2013, in the Vicariate of Eastern Africa. The Eastern African Vicariate, under the particular responsibility of the Province of St. Joseph, serves Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Sudan. The vicariate grew out of the 1985 foundation of a Dominican house in Kisumu in Western Kenya, and had its first priestly ordination in 1997. Since then the vicariate has grown to include other communities and a wide variety of evangelical activity. Br. Raphael and Br. Emmanuel are now continuing their studies in preparation for their priestly ordination. We give thanks to God on this joyous occasion, and we pray that he may continue to bless them abundantly in their Dominican life. Click here for a complete slideshow of their profession mass.
