Vincent Ferrer Stained Glass Restoration Brunch
October 10, 2013
The Church of St. Vincent Ferrer, New York City, one of the Province of St. Joseph’s oldest and most beautiful churches, is in the process of restoring the glorious stained glass throughout the structure. In order to support the ongoing restoration, the parish is hosting a benefit brunch on Saturday, October 19, from 10 A.M. to noon. The morning will begin with an up-close tour of the stained glass from the “triforium,” the architectural access-way near the church’s ceiling. There will also be a discussion of the St. John of Cologne window, which depicts one of the Order’s foremost saints from the sixteenth century. After the talk there will be a brunch in the priory. Tickets cost $100 dollars. Those interested in attending should be prepared for climbing steep stairs, and are advised to wear old clothes. Contact Yvonne at 212.744.2080 to reserve a spot.
