The Meeting of the Board
November 19, 2012
This past week the Dominican Foundation’s Board of Directors met to discuss how to more effectively fulfill our mission of providing financial support for our province. The two-day board meeting began Wednesday night with common prayer followed with mass celebrated by myself with Fr. Sam Matarazzo, O.P. preaching. In his homily Fr. Sam thanked the board noting that as a senior friar he is one of the longest standing beneficiaries. Caring for our elderly friars who have “fought the good fight” is a principal aim as well as training a record number of men for the priesthood; supporting the foreign missions, especially in Kenya; as well as founding new ministries that will build up a culture of life. Since we are gifted with the mantle of being the fastest growing religious order in the United States we also have some serious expenses. We are approaching our goal for a matching-gift grant, but if you have not committed please act now by clicking here.
