DHS Year of Faith Holy Hour

October 8, 2012

In October of 2011, Pope Benedict XVI declared that the Catholic Church would celebrate a “Year of Faith” from October 11, 2012 to November 24, 2013.  This Year of Faith coincides with the 50th Anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council, as well as 20th Anniversary of the publishing of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.  This year also marks the 500th anniversary of the opening of the 5th Lateran Council.

To mark the opening of the Year of Faith, the Friars of the Dominican House of Studies will be hosting a “Year of Faith Holy Hour” on Thursday October 11th from 7:30-8:30 PM.  The Prior of the House of Studies, the Very Rev. Kenneth Letoile, O.P., will preach at the Holy Hour.  Confessors will be available during the Hour, and a reception will follow the event.  All are invited. The Dominican House of Studies is located at 487 Michigan Ave, NE, Washington, DC, across the street from The Catholic University of America and just a short walk from the Brookland/CUA Metro Stop. The flier’s image is Raphael’s Miraculous Draught of Fishes, which he painted in 1515-1516 and is now located in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
