Seven Church Walk
March 27, 2012
This Saturday, March 31, young adults from the Washington, DC area will be going on pilgrimage to seven historic churches in the city, including the Dominican parish, St. Dominic’s, in South West, where the pilgrims will chant Mid-Morning Prayer. The Seven Church Walk is modeled on the tradition instituted by St. Philip Neri of visiting the four Major Basilicas and three minor Basilicas of Rome. The DC pilgrimage was started nine years ago by a group of young adults in the Archdiocese of Washington as a way to draw young adults closer to God during Lent through prayer and sacrifice. Like the walks organized by St. Philip, the pilgrimage has a spirit that is both prayerful and convivial. All young adults in the DC area are welcome to participate. The pilgrimage will begin with Mass at 9 am at St. Patrick’s Church (619 10th Street, NW), and will conclude by 4 pm at the Cathedral of St. Matthew. To register, please visit this page.
