Earlier this year, Fr. Nicholas Lombardo, O.P., a friar from St. Joseph’s Province, was awarded the 2010 Templeton Prize for Theological Promise. As part of that award, Fr. Lombardo will be offering a series of public lectures at the Pontifical Gregorian University (the “Gregorianum”) in Rome. On November 23, Fr. Lombardo will speak on “Boredom and its Discontents: Looking at a modern phenomenon with Aquinas”. Following that, on November 23 will be a second lecure on “Redemption as Ransom: the crucifixion in patristic theology”. Fr. Lombardo is an Assistant Professor of Historical Theology and Systematics at the Catholic University of America.
