Congressional Catholic Staff Association
October 9, 2011
This fall, the Congressional Catholic Staff Association in Washington, DC, has sponsored a series of talks on “Catholic Essentials” for staffers on Capitol Hill. In September, Fr. James Brent, O.P., gave a talk on “How do faith and reason enrich one another?” and Br. Justin Brophy, O.P., spoke on the proofs for the existence of God using natural reason; earlier this month, Fr. Andrew Hofer, O.P. spoke on Faith and Reason in the Approach to Scripture. There are two further talks this month: On Tuesday, October 11, Fr. John Paul Walker, O.P. will speak on Christian Faith and Modern Science, and on Tuesday, October 18, Fr. Nicholas Lombardo, O.P. will give a talk titled “Original Sin: A Misunderstood and Entirely Reasonable Doctrine”. The Catholic Staff Association is an official Congressional Staff Organization approved by the Committee on House Administration. All legislative branch employees are invited to participate in CSA events. For more information, visit the Catholic Staff Association website.
