Conversion Story of a Dominican Pastor

June 8, 2011

Greetings from our parish, St. Thomas Aquinas in Zanesville, Ohio!  I am “out West” covering in a few of our parishes.   In this video, Fr. Jordan Turano OP, the pastor here, tells his story to Marcus Grodi on EWTN.  It just so happens that Mr. Grodi is a parishioner of our parish here and records his weekly show from an EWTN studio specially set up here in Zanesville.

Fr. Jordan was a delayed vocation and had a full career of teaching before he entered.  As you know from our criteria page, our age limit is 35 years of age, but there are times when we do make exceptions.  Right now Fr. Jordan is away in Youngstown, Ohio giving a retreat for some religious sisters.

Tonight, when I was locking the church, I ran into a group of saintly ladies of the parish, who were part of the Rosary Pro-Life Prayer group.  Needless to say, I capitalized on the moment and quickly gave them holy cards of Blessed Jordan of Saxony, the patron saint of Dominican vocations.  They are ALL praying for you!
