Vocation Boom Radio Interview

Recently I did an interview on Vocation Boom Radio about the Order of Preachers with Jerry Usher of Catholic Answers out of San Diego, CA. You can listen to the program on our website. In the interview I share how the Lord has been so good to our province, though it is also clear that a number of orders, religious communities and dioceses are experiencing a renaissance of vocations. I was just speaking this morning with Fr. Joseph Alobaidi OP, the Master of Students, and next year here at the Dominican House of Studies, we will have over 50 brothers in formation. We are quickly running out of space! This is a good problem to have – in fact, we have not had such problems for many years, though pretty consistently we have had a good number of novices each year.
Our vocation weekend here went very well! We are praying that many of these men will enter in the years to come! We already have 9 men signed up for the Fall Vocation weekend. Maybe you should get a hold of me sooner rather than later?! You all are in my thoughts and prayers as we continue this holy season of Lent.
Vocation Boom! is a non-profit initiative more than 20 years in the making. Officially opened shortly after Pope Benedict XVI’s declaration of the Year for Priests, Vocation Boom! seeks to support the priesthood as a life’s vocation and mission. Vocation Boom! hopes to develop a global support community where youth and young men interested in the priesthood can find comprehensive resources, encouragement, mentors and friends to aid in the discernment process.
