Our Lady of Guadalupe Triptych at the Church of St. Vincent Ferrer

December 12, 2016

On December 12, the Church of St. Vincent Ferrer in New York City celebrates the one-year anniversary of the installation of a new triptych dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe. Painted in a traditional iconographic style by Janine Manheim, the triptych depicts Our Lady of Guadalupe in the center together with St. Juan Diego, placing Dominican saints associated with the New World on either side: St. Rose of Lima and St. Martin de Porres on the left, and St. Louis Bertrand and St. Juan Macias on the right. When the wings of the triptych are closed, a colorful map of North and South America as it would have been understood at the time of the apparition of Our Lady appears. Over the past year, the triptych has added to the contemplative and devotional atmosphere of the Church of St. Vincent Ferrer, and frequently attracts the attention of those who seek Mary’s intercession. Our Lady of Guadalupe, Pray for Us!
