St. Albert the Great Lecture at Providence College

RenzFr. Christopher John Renz, OP will give this year’s St. Albert the Great Lecture at Providence College, RI, on Tuesday, November 18, at 4:00pm. Fr. Renz’s lecture is entitled “Health, Medicine, and Spirituality: The God Factor in Human Wellness.” The lecture will be held in the Center for Catholic and Dominican Studies.   Fr. Renz is the academic dean of the Dominican School for Philosophy and Theology in Berkeley, CA. Fr. Renz entered the Dominican Province of the Most Holy Name (Western Province) in 1989 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1997. Previous to his entrance into the Order he studied biochemistry at St. Peter’s College in New Jersey, and received a doctorate in microbiology from Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. Besides science and faith issues, Fr. Renz enjoys reading and writing poetry, co-founding a poetry group at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, and serving as general editor for their annual journal Ruah: A Journal of Spiritual Poetry.
