Forty Hours Devotion at The Church of Saint Catherine of Siena

Veni, Si Amas (Come, if you love) is the theme of the Forty Hours Devotion at the Church of Saint Catherine of Siena, from October 17—19. The schedule includes Masses and Eucharistic adoration all weekend, confessions on Saturday afternoon, and preached compline (Night Prayer) on Friday and Sunday. The preacher for all liturgies will be Fr. Gabriel O’Donnell, OP. For more information see the promotional flyer or the Church website. All are invited, especially those involved in Health Care. Fr. Gabriel O’Donnell, OP made simple profession in the Order of Preachers in 1964 and was ordained a priest in 1970. Following ordination he earned a doctorate in sacred theology focusing on spiritual theology from the Teresianum in Rome. Fr. O’Donnell returned to the States and has taught theology at the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC, where he also served as academic dean, St. Charles Seminary in Philadelphia, and the Angelicum in Rome. Alongside teaching he serves as vice-postulator for the causes of sainthood of Father Michael J. McGivney, founder of the Knights of Columbus, and postulator for Mother Rose Hawthorne, founder of the Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne, New York. He has published numerous articles on theology and spirituality and authored, along with Robin Maas, Spiritual Traditions for the Contemporary Church. He currently teaches at the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception.
