May 30, 2014

Archbishop Charles Chaput, O.F.M. Cap., recently published the talk he delivered at the Thomistic Institute’s April 25-26 St. Francis of Assisi and the Western Tradition conference, entitled “Without Gloss: Francis of Assisi and Western Catholicism.” Archbishop Chaput’s article was published in Crisis Magazine on May 29, 2014, and can be seen here. The St. Francis of Assisi and the Western Tradition conference examined St. Francis’ life and his reception in the wider culture, including his influence on the Western tradition, Islam, ecology, and of course his connections to the current Holy Father, Pope Francis. Major speakers included Archbishop Chaput, Roger Scruton, R.R. Reno, Carol Zaleski, and Philip Zaleski.
